First attempt made without sugar. Came out tasty but will add a little sugar next time because I missed a little sweetness. I may experiment next time using canned plumb tomatoes too just to see how that taste is. However, not sure how many ounces of the canned tomatoes to use though.5 stars

Hi Beth,

Thank you for your kind words and question 🙂

For this recipe, you don’t have to peel the tomatoes after roasting.

Take care & have fun cooking

Recipe looks fabulous, just one question – you don’t peel the tomatoes after roasting them?

Thanks, Beth5 stars

I used canned tomatoes as I was out of tomatoes but it turned out so great I decided to skip the cream. Thanks a lot!

No more purchased soup for us. Used up some tomatoes and peppers that were getting old. Did not have Heavy Cream, half and half worked well.

I had some with cream and froze the rest without. Will add while warming up. Next batch I added some Tumeric and ginger. Next batch I will add curry. Will use this recipe as a base then alter whenever I feel creative. Lol5 stars

Hi Jan,

About 1 sprig of fresh thyme and 2 – 3 fresh basil.

The fresh basil leaves should be added at the end of cooking.

Take care & have fun cooking!
