I doubled the recipe and we have 1.5 servings left, after 3 adults inhaled it. I had to make some changes since I didn’t have dark soy sauce and I’m a wuss when it comes to heat!
I used hoisin and oyster sauces in equal measure replacement, so 1/2 tsp of each = 1 tsp of dark soy called for in the recipe.
I didn’t have red chilis, but I did have cayenne powder and red pepper flakes. After much searching trying to figure out equivalents, I landed on 1 tsp of red pepper flakes per pepper called for. So SIX tsps. I knew that was waay too much, so I used only 2 instead.
The guys LOVED it! I liked it a lot, but I had a small furnace in my tummy for some time 😀 So next time, I think I’ll back it up to just 1 tsp. Anyway, GREAT recipe! Excellent over jasmine rice, but also very delish over Right Rice, for those who are cutting back on carbs.
