What size of bamboo steamer would you recommend?

Hi Kit,

Happy new year and thank you for your kind comment.

The 8″ steamer will fit inside the 6 quarts to use for method 1.

For the 10″ steamer, you will stack it on top of the Instant Pot as shown in this picture to use as method 2.

Take care & have fun cooking

Later it lists 10 inch. I initially only saw the second part and bought a 10 inch steamer that does not fit in my 6qt instant pot. I ended up using my wok instead. I substituted gluten free four and the dough came out surprisingly well.5 stars

Wow. Delicious. Pinching the buns closed turned out to be a learning curve, but halfway through I got better and better. I will definitely be making these in the future. Thanks once again for making me look like a fantastic chef. I really appreciate all the effort you 2 put into your recipes.5 stars

Hi Nora,

We don’t have one with black pepper chicken filling yet 🙂

Added to our super long to make list!

Take care & have a wonderful weekend ahead

We could buy these everywhere! Do y’all have a recipe for a black pepper chicken filling? I have looked online, trying to recreate, but so far I haven’t had any success.5 stars

Hi Gene,

thank you for your kind words and question 🙂

You can freeze them before or after cooking!

Wonderful recipe and, except for my forming the buns, very easy to make. I used an 8″ steamer basket inside my instant pot and it worked beautifully. I will use the stacking method next time so I can cook more at once as the time to cook all 16 was considerable making three at a time. Can these be frozen before cooking?

Hi Dorene,

thank you for your question 🙂

You can just use the manual or pressure cook button.

Take care & stay safe
