Duo for a 2018 Christmas present to myself. It took me awhile to become comfortable with using it but I loved it. After a few months I accidentally put it on a hot burner and melted the bottom and some of the wires. I again saved up money (I’m a 69 year old on Social Security) and decided to upgrade and my 2019 Christmas present to myself was the 6 qt. Ultra. I use it A LOT and quickly decided my 2020 Christmas present to myself would be the air fryer lid and maybe if the price was low enough I’d get a 3 qt. model. Although I live alone I wanted the 6 quart for larger food items such as a whole chicken but I’ve realized I can’t always cook a meal in one pot. I was going to wait until Black Friday this year because I’ve never found the fryer on sale; it was always $79 no matter where I looked. This year the weekend before Thanksgiving I decided to check other store sites and I found the Air Fryer bundled with the 6 qt. Instant Pot Duo Crisp, all for $79 at Walmart and it had free shipping! I checked and now on Black Friday that price is still there, and now Amazon also has it. I can’t wait to start using it! I have severe arthritis and the pot is very heavy so I leave it on the stove so it’s there whenever I need it. I can sit and prep everything and then when it’s near supper put everything in the pot. There are some meals I’ve questioned the directions, like when making spaghetti sauté the meat first, add the sauce and then the dry spaghetti on top but I decided to trust the directions and it’s delicious. Cooking in the IP is easy, quick, and I don’t need to use a ton of pots and pans. I’ve made stews, whole chickens (very moist and tender), vegetables (including corn on the cob), potatoes, ribs, all kinds rice and grains (which always come out cooked perfectly without frequent stirring and babysitting), and even Pillsbury cinnamon rolls. All come out perfect. One more thing: Amy + Jacky are my go-to cooks. I check their web site first when I need a recipe, follow it exactly, and the meals are cooked perfectly and are delicious. Don’t waste your time looking anywhere else unless they don’t have your recipe!
