Family lunch today. Kept it simple and had everything prepped well in advance. Chicken biryani cooked in pressure cooker using @pressurecookrecipes recipe. This is a banging biryani and is now a regular for us. All prepping done yesterday so just had to turn the Instant pot on and voila!

Let me start by saying I am Indian, from Singapore… living in the US now. One of my favorite dishes is biryani. I use to watch my mom slave over this dish for hours… having to layer the rice and chicken, etc. I was very skeptical about making this in an insta-pot. No ways can this be done in less than an hour! I’ve tried your recipes before and all have come out fabulous so I had to give this a shot. Delicious. My mind is blown. My family loves it. Thank you for doing so much work on your end to provide us with such amazing, easy and fast recipes!

In reply to Amy + Jacky. Thank you! If I simply wanted to double to chicken and not the rice, would you sugggest that I put half the chicken on the bottom (as in the recipe) and half on tops of the rice and liquid?

Increasing the recipe by 25% is probably the maximum I can recommend. You can reduce the cooking time by 1 minute as the get up to pressure time will be longer.

This sounds delish, but I didn’t see whether this called for bone-in thighs or boneless/skinless (my preference). Can you please tell me which you used for that cooking time?

Wow! I’m new to the pressure cooker scheme, and I had doubts that dumping two cups of rice on top of the chicken would work, but it was perfect! Fluffy rice, excellent spice profile, scrumptious chicken. You ladies never fail to impress.

This would have to be one of my favorite Instant Pot dishes yet and we’ve had some corkers. Chicken biryani from @pressurecookrecipes Wasn’t paying $4.00 for coriander to garnish so sprinkled with chopped flat-leaf parsley and spring onion. I also added rocoto chili and chopped carrots and beans left over from yesterday’s platter. All cooked in one pot, nice and easy. I was amazed at just how good it was 😍
