Hi Eugenia,

For the Instant Pot Max, it is best to select High Pressure instead of Max.

Please take care & stay safe!

This web site is now my go to. I have a 6qt MAX, my first was defective and replaced by Instant Pot Support after Burn message appeared twice in pressure building stage and once during Pressure Cooking Stage. I am now a bit nervous using this new pot and am having difficulty finding recipes and tips specific for MAX leaving me a newbie adjusting my recipes! Do you have any tips that would make my experience simply straightforward when following your recipes? Is there something I need to keep in mind when using the MAX and following recipes which have been written for other types of IP? Please and Thank you for any advice you can offer.

Hi Soraida,

Thank you for your question.

Have you tried the water test for your Instant Pot?

Please take care & stay safe

Any other suggestions?

I noticed both my “new” 3-qt mini & the “new” 6-qt offer the burn messages quite frequently, on the same recipes that I’ve been successfully cooking in previous 6-qt & 8-qt pots for over 4 years, so it’s something about the new pots, for sure. But now I have workarounds, like adding the tomato sauce on top of the chili mixture, with water in bottom. Thanks!

Hi Cora,

You will want to layer the rice on top of the chicken and beans instead of the bottom.

Please take care & stay safe!

I have added an excess of water and every time it shows the burn notice. It eneded up cooking fully at the end but the rice was overdone, and the chicken was cooked correctly. I am new to instapot, thank you for your help!

Hi Kyle,

Yes, the inner pot (except DUO EVO Plus) can move around due to the design.

Please take care & stay safe

I notice my inner pot spins while I’m in sauté mode. My model is the Duo Crisp + Air Fryer
